Note to self
Do not watch "My Sisters Keeper" on an airplane full of people without a tissue anywhere and when you are feeling a little emotional. Especially do not let your children see you crying, as they might just shout out really, really loudly "mummy why are you crying" and then when you are so emotional and can't answer them, they shout even louder "why are you crying" and continue this rant until you can get some sort of words out to answer them.

Oh boy - am I ever an emotional sap when it comes to movies. Good to know this one is a tear jerker! I've laughed so hard on a plane that I am sure everyone around me was irritated - but I haven't cried like that on a plane! Poor thing!
I have held back from seeing this movie because I made the mistake of reading the book when on the bus. Sob fest.

Sounds like a good one to save for an evening with girlfriends... and a bottle of wine.
I remember flying home from a semester in London and bawling my eyes out over "Steel Magnolias." I had just lost my mother and was...raw.
I had dressed like a punk rocker to surprise my dad. The weeping did a number on my punk makeup.
The book is far more intense and so much better too. The movie only skimmed over the real issues and cut out some really interesting parts. The book has a completely different, surpise ending.
BTW Heather, if you need a kidney - it's yours!!
Oh how embarrassing :( I've always made it a point to only watch sad movies in private - I made a complete mockery of myself watching King Kong in the cinema when he died lol
