I seriously think every contractor needs to have a woman on their team. Having just had our bathroom remodeled they did a great job apart from the final touches which only a woman would do right. You know those curtain rods that bend outwards to give you more room in the shower, well they put it in way to far so that if we ever put in a straight rod you would have to bring your arms in tight against your side so that you don't touch your side. Seriously did they not realize the whole reason we got the shower rod was to give us more room. Then they put the ceiling light in the wrong way round so there is a gap that you can see when you walk into the bathroom BUT if they had put it in horizontally instead of vertically - NO GAP! Again probably only a woman would notice that. Its not that big of a deal but its just a little annoying, although I have to say I think I scowl every time I look at the shower curtain rod. I wish I had a before photo but I had 70's ugly canary yellow tile, rust in the bath and nasty brass faucets with a white linoleum floor. Who puts white floors in a bathroom? The worst design ever besides the white linoleum we had in the kitchen. Anyway after 8 years in the house we have finally got a new bathroom and here it is. (see how far that curtain rod is in from the edge of the tile)

Very nice. Can you get them to change the curtain rod? If it's going to bother you, it may be worth having a little hole with filler in the tile.
Oh I love it - it's very stylish. Great countertop/sink! And that rod does look too close in...is there no way they can fix it? If it's screwed in to the wall like ours is, it would just take re-tiling about four tiles - they should be able to do that no problem. You should be totally satisfied when they're done. They could fix the light then too.
That is annoying especially since you paid your hard earned money for this remodel, not to mention having one bath out of commission during the whole remodel.
Other than that it looks great, I love the tile you chose for in the tub area!
I'd have to get it changed because I know one day I would get so pissed off I'd be tempted to do a DIY job lol
Nice choice of tiles. Annoying about the curtain rod...
Very nice bathroom. That's really a shame that the contractor put the curtain rod in so close. For what it costs to renovate, you should have him fix it.
You are right about a female touch, my husband is a contractor and often will ask me for a female opinion.
Sunny :)
Looks great!! But yes, they screwed up on the rod. I would have them fix it.
There is nothing like a brand new, sparkly bathroom when you've been living in yuck. I've been there. Congrats!
It looks great. And I agree completely on the woman thing. We have so many little things like this that drive me nuts from our house remodel!

How funny! Hubby Colin is in the process right now of converting a small bedroom into an on-suite bathroom for me. He's doing a fab job but it amazes me how I have to monitor, minutely, how everything should be installed. I know exactly what you mean, and how I would hate to have to scowl every bloody time I walked into the bathroom. I'm feeling you missus! Tiling looks great:)
Loved this post and the others I read this morning so off to sign up to follow.
Come have a giggle or two with me over at my blog when you can spare the time:)
