Update

First of all - thank you to everyone who left a comment, emailed and even called me about my last post - your thoughts and kindness have made me realize that I am wasting to0 much energy on the past and I need to concentrate all that energy on the present and what I have got in my 2 beautiful kids. So that is my intention, and I feel good about it.

Secondly, remember my horror story of Charlie dropping my external hard drive on the floor, well we are talking $1200 for data recovery. Lets just say this will never happen again, as I am buying 2 external drives and backing up one of them every month. But - and it is a big but - how can I remain mad at him when he looks like this. You just can't beat Thomas the Tank Y-fronts and Wellington Boots.

Thanks Rachel for sending me this photo, it made my day.

I am currently in Colorado for work till the rest of the week, no kids, its raining and it is now 1.11 am - I need to go to bed but I am just enjoying the peace and quiet. I can look out of my room and see the Flatirons - a mountainous terrain, beautiful.

Oh and one last thing my 2 year old son turned to me the other day and said "I don't like this mummy its crap" as he picked at the food on his plate. Needless to say I was horrified and quizzed him immediately where he learnt the word - Oh the joys of going to preschool!!!

Thanks again everyone I really do appreciate all the comments you made.

Great photo!

It seems that "crap" is now an acceptable word. I've noticed my 10 year old saying it a bit and when I told her off, she made it very clear that it's not a swear word. I said, "neither is cow, but you wouldn't call call Nana one would you"?

She probably would, but that's another issue.

I really love this photo. Be sure to back it up several times on your new hard drives, so that it can be used as blackmail when Charlie is old enough to REALLY appreciate it.

Oh what a cute photo on your blog, and the one that you linked to. I agree - I'm totally going to let Fiona dress herself and pray that she loves sequins and feathers and angel wings as much as I do.

So glad you're feeling better too!

Ummm... well my children learn their swear words from me. I cut my finger cooking not too long ago and said sh%&. And 3 little voices from the other room, one after another, said sh%&. Nice. Good job dad.

What a wonderful picture. Memorable. Indeed no material loss can compare to the good times spent with your kids. Wishing you and your family all the best :)

at least Charlie didn't say:
'I don't like this MUMMY, SHE'S crap!'

I love that until the last year or so my daughter (who is almost 11) used to think that the 'F-word' was FAT hehehehe!

But did he say it with an accent? I thinking Mike Meyers playing his father in So I Married an Axe Murderer ("If it's not Scottish, it's crap!")

I always stay up WAY too late when I travel alone...peace and quiet and a big hotel bed all to myself - if I fall asleep, I'll miss it!

I didn't comment on the last post because you said not to if there was nothing relevant to say, but I was here all the time waiting for you to come back.
